Hey best friend, girly pops! Me again, back to make you wonder, “Did he take his prozac this morning?” (The answer is yes, I’m just a funny little girl!) Today I’ll be introducing another new section, “Spotify Premium Users ONLY” where I tell you my songs of the month for that month. Now, let’s dive headfirst into the column.

“What’s New Boo?!” –

  • THE NEW YEAR! (January 1) So get ready for a new and improved Sawyer (J.K. I’ll still be the same me, just more hateful and even skinnier)

Fun Fact of the Day! –

Julius Caesar added the 31st day to the month!

Sawyer’s Thoughts –

Since it’s the new year, let’s all do each other a favor and leave the hateful, snotty attitudes in 2023. I’m not sure why some of you feel like your poop doesn’t stink, but let me let you in on a little secret….(IT DOES, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE) Anyways. We need to stop making fun of people just because we can. Everyone knows that the only reason any of you say hateful things is because you’re sad, or don’t like yourself, or don’t have a good homelife. So, instead of taking your emotion out on people who don’t deserve it, come see me when I get my degree in Psychology <3!

Another thing is I’m so icked out by seeing all the “sporty” or “popular” boys still in shorts. We get it, you think you’re cool. You think, “wow the girls are gonna think I’m so strong, brave, and hot!” NO THEY DON’T BABE! Grow up and put on a pair of pants, you look dumb! I don’t want to see a pair of shorts on ANYONE until late March/ early April at the EARLIEST.

The Drama Corner –

Something that’s really been getting under my skin as a yearbook staff member is when the yearbook staff takes pictures of the school, the activities, and the people. Then we allow other school organizations and groups to use these photos and, oh, what’s that, THEY DON’T GIVE US CREDIT. It takes five extra seconds to type out the words, “Photo Credit to the JB yearbook staff” or tag our instagram, @james_buchanan_student_media.

Fashion Suicide –

Something I’m so tired of seeing in the halls, well I hear them as well, are work/cowboy boots. Unless you work in a shop at tech and you’re just coming back for the day, there is NO REASON you should be wearing Carhartt or Timberland STEEL TOED WORK BOOTS. They look ugly, they sound clunky, and they don’t match with any outfit. As for the cowboy boots – there are some exceptions, such as if they look like something Taylor Swift would wear in her Debut or Fearless eras. Other than that, I don’t wanna see OR hear ‘em!

Sawyer Strine, Staff Writer
Written by Emma Smith This brand-new addition to the yearbook staff is just what we need!  Sawyer Strine finds that the yearbook is one of the most memorable parts of your school.  During school, he enjoys the English and art classes for the creative opportunities they give.  Music and writing are huge parts of how Sawyer decompresses after his busy schedule.  He uses those elements for decompressing after dealing with his busy schedule.   Besides being on the journalism staff, he is president of the Equality Club and wants to make sure everyone in JBHS can safely express themselves.  In an interview, Sawyer states, "...what can we do to help other kids who aren't able to be as open as we are and feel safe because even they get made fun of for just being themselves.”  While having the president of a club and having a job can take a lot of his time, You can rest assured that he will dedicate time to achieve the best pieces of writing and the best photos!
