Walking her way down the field, Izzy Hoffeditz was accompanied by her mom and dad as well as her surrounding teammates and coaches. They all came together to celebrate Hoffeditz accomplishments.

With the high school soccer season coming to an end, the seniors on this team will be missed. But, each of them plan on moving forward onto bigger and better things after they graduate. Overtime, the girls have become more than just a team. They became a family as well. Through tough moments, these girls will always cherish memories and wish the rest of the team good luck as they continue to play.

Leaving a Mark

For every athlete, senior night has been something that they look forward to so they can be recognized for their hard work and dedication to the team throughout the years along with their achievements on and off of the field. The environment created a bittersweet atmosphere as the seniors came together and reflected on how much they had grown together. The surrounding players, younger athletes, and parents showed appreciation by decorating the bleachers and making signs for every senior with pictures from when they started playing up until their senior year.

Blood, Sweat, Tears, and Teammates

To kick off senior night, the players were escorted by their parents onto the field where they met their teammates for hugs, happy tears, pictures, and received roses.“I felt a rush of emotions with happiness and sadness about senior night, but also being focused and ready for a game. I loved all the decorations they did for us. I even got a huge balloon,” Hoffeditz said. Walking out with her mom and dad, the announcer made known her plans for after high school. “I’m going to Bloomsburg University to play D2 soccer and major in business,” Hoffeditz said. Along with her future plans, the senior shared her favorite memories from her years of playing soccer. “My favorite memory was dressing up for pink out in support of breast cancer awareness,” Hoffeditz said.

Natalea Thurston, Staff Writer
Written by Karli Gordon Natalea Thurston is a Junior at James Buchanan High School. She is a part of the Varsity soccer team and has just joined the yearbook staff this year. She is excited to step out of her comfort zone and take on this challenge along with managing soccer. Another of her favorite hobbies is taking pictures. This is one of her many skills for journalism. Others include hardwork and her motivation. She is also a very funny person. An example of this would be when she was asked why she joined yearbook, her response was “because Izzy wanted me to and I really like Izzy.” With that being said, she is still excited and that wasn’t her only reason for joining.   More onto the random facts now, Natalea is close with her Dad and her two younger sisters. After High school she wants to go to college to become a Physical Therapist; although she doesn’t know what college yet. Natalea likes fall because “it’s not cold, and it's not warm.” Her favorite music artist right now is Taylor Swift but it changes a lot. With all that being said, Natalea is a great fit for the yearbook team.
