Pennsylvania Man Dies in Police Custody After Erratic Behavior Incident in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — A tragic incident unfolded early Thursday morning as a man died while in police custody following a disturbance in Pittsburgh.

According to the Allegheny County Police Department, Pittsburgh officers responded to a call at approximately 2:46 a.m. near the intersection of Saw Mill Run Boulevard and Bausman Street. Reports indicated a man was acting erratically and posing a danger to himself and motorists.

Upon arrival, the man allegedly tried to enter a police vehicle before being restrained by officers. Authorities say he had sustained a head injury with visible road rash. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Further investigation revealed that prior to police arrival, the individual had been walking into traffic and reportedly attempted to enter a pickup truck. The vehicle drove off, dragging the man toward Warrington Avenue.
