Burlington Acquires Former Big Lots Location in Pennsylvania

Clifton Heights, PA – National discount retailer Burlington has expanded its presence in Pennsylvania by acquiring a former Big Lots store in Delaware County.

Following Big Lots’ bankruptcy filing in September 2024, hundreds of its stores across the U.S. were shuttered, and many of its retail leases were sold off during bankruptcy proceedings. As part of that process, Burlington secured 34 former Big Lots locations nationwide.

One of those newly acquired locations is at 713 E. Baltimore Ave. in Clifton Heights, marking a strategic move by Burlington to strengthen its footprint in the Philadelphia region.

Burlington, which already operates over three dozen stores in Pennsylvania, continues to grow its affordable retail offerings, focusing on discounted clothing, home goods, and accessories.

This expansion is part of a broader trend of discount retailers capitalizing on the closure of major chains like Big Lots to secure prime real estate in key markets.
