John and Lainey Keimig were seriously injured in a crash on Tuesday, April 22, near their Myersville home. The accident occurred on I-70 in Frederick County, not far from their residence.

Lainey Keimig sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. She remains hospitalized, undergoing intensive rehabilitation. Her recovery will be a long and challenging process.

John Keimig, the basketball coach at Middletown High School, was taken to a trauma center in Hagerstown. He has since been released and is recovering at home, although he still faces physical difficulties.

The exact details of the crash have not been publicly disclosed, but it is clear that the impact was significant, leaving the couple with both physical and emotional challenges.

In response, the local community has come together to support the Keimigs. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to help cover medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and other essential expenses. The fundraising goal is $100,000, and nearly $50,000 has already been raised.

Fundraiser organizer Kerry Beard shared an update, saying, “Lainey remains hospitalized with serious injuries and continues to receive extensive medical care. John is recovering at home but still facing physical challenges.”

Community members and friends have expressed their support, with one supporter saying, “Lainey danced with me as a little girl. Any donation to this wonderful family is greatly appreciated.”

John’s father, Joe Keimig, who is also the lead singer of the band Different Direction, has asked for donations to aid in his son and daughter-in-law’s recovery.

“Lainey has started rehab, including OT, PT, and speech therapy,” Beard wrote. “She still faces a long road ahead, but her family finds strength in her ongoing progress.”

Those interested in supporting the Keimigs can donate via their GoFundMe page. Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly assist with their care and recovery.

The Keimig family is deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity of their supporters during this challenging time.
