A 35-year-old special needs educator from Pennsylvania has been arrested and charged with more than sixty felony offenses, including institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and illegal distribution of controlled substances.

According to authorities, the educator—identified as Michelle—allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student and provided him with illegal drugs, including medical marijuana. The incidents are believed to have occurred multiple times since February of this year, with most of them reportedly taking place at the home of one of the educator’s family members.

The criminal complaint details that the educator also purchased marijuana for the student approximately fifteen times and communicated with him via a messaging app to coordinate meetings and exchanges. The investigation began after the victim’s family contacted law enforcement. Authorities reviewed the teen’s cell phone and gathered supporting evidence that led to the formal charges.

Michelle, who has been employed by the school district since 2014 in various roles including paraprofessional and educator, has been placed on administrative leave. She is barred from all school properties while the investigation is ongoing. District officials stated they are fully cooperating with law enforcement and remain committed to maintaining a safe learning environment.

Superintendent Richard Gusick confirmed that there is currently no evidence suggesting involvement of other students. Meanwhile, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office has stated they will seek substantial bail upon the defendant’s medical clearance, as she has reported an ongoing health issue.

District Attorney Christopher emphasized the severity of the case, stating, “This conduct represents a grave violation of the trust placed in educators. We will pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law.”
