A Texas woman, Shakia Jenkins, has been arrested in Florida after allegedly attempting to murder a former friend in a violent stabbing outside a 7-Eleven in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood.
According to police, Jenkins, 29, brutally attacked her victim after a dispute at a local hookah lounge, and later bragged about the attack on social media.
Details of the Attack
The incident unfolded on July 15, 2024, when Jenkins and her victim, who had been friends in 2023 before their falling out earlier in 2024, agreed to meet in Miami to fight.
After a confrontation at the Uncut Miami hookah lounge, the two women drove to the nearby 7-Eleven, where they exited their vehicles and approached each other to continue the altercation.
Witnesses say during the fight, the victim felt a sharp object stab her in the face, and immediately yelled, “She’s stabbing me.” The attack continued as Jenkins allegedly plunged a knife into the victim’s face, narrowly missing her eye and forehead. The victim was rushed to safety, but the attack left her with serious injuries.
Bragging About the Stabbing on Social Media
After the violent altercation, Jenkins took to Instagram Live, where she openly discussed the stabbing, showing no remorse. In a video reviewed by the Miami Police Department, Jenkins allegedly said, “Call me Chucky and Michael Myers ho,” referencing two notorious horror characters known for their violent actions.
When asked by a viewer why she stabbed the victim, Jenkins reportedly responded, “That ho lucky her family ain’t making a GoFundMe right now.” She also claimed, “I ain’t sorry, b—. At all. I’ll do it again,” further emphasizing her lack of regret.
Jenkins even admitted to aiming for the victim’s eye and the middle of her forehead, saying, “I should have finished that ho off.“
Authorities say Jenkins made several statements in her posts, including, “I should have put a bullet in that ho mouth,” and “stab that ho in her mother f—ing brain.”
Background of the Conflict
Jenkins and the victim’s friendship began through social media in 2023 but ended abruptly after a Valentine’s Day party in 2024, reportedly due to a heated argument. The pre-existing animosity between the two women led to the violent confrontation in Miami.
Charges and Prior Criminal History
Jenkins has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and remains in jail without bond. She has prior criminal convictions for grand theft in Florida and fraud in Texas, adding to the severity of her current charges.
Community Shock and Impact
The incident has shocked the Miami community, particularly in the Liberty City area, where residents are grappling with the brutality of the attack. Social media reactions have been mixed, with some expressing disbelief at the lack of remorse shown by Jenkins, while others have criticized the increasing prevalence of online bragging after violent acts.
This shocking case highlights the dangerous potential consequences of unresolved conflicts and the role that social media can play in glorifying violence. Jenkins’ actions have left her victim physically harmed and emotionally traumatized, while the investigation continues into this brutal act.
Jenkins’ next court appearance is anticipated as she faces serious charges that could result in years in prison.
