Fans of The Bold Type, get ready — a movie could be on the way! Actress Katie Stevens says she’s totally on board to return as Jane Sloan, and her former co-stars Meghann Fahy and Aisha Dee are also excited to join in.
The three actresses became best friends on the set of The Bold Type, which aired from 2017 to 2021. The show followed their characters as they worked at a fashion magazine in New York City and supported each other through love, career, and life challenges.
Even though the show ended four years ago, the cast and fans are still very much connected.
Fans Still Love The Show
Katie Stevens recently spoke to PEOPLE at Comic-Con 2025. She said she wasn’t sure if fans would remember her because she hadn’t done any superhero or sci-fi shows. But she was surprised by how many people came up just to talk about The Bold Type.
“People told me they’re watching the show for the fourth time with their best friends,” she shared. “That just felt so amazing.”
“We’re Ready to Do It”
Katie didn’t stop there. She said she, Meghann, and Aisha are all ready to do a movie or a spinoff. “Every interview we do, we all say the same thing — we want to make a Bold Type movie,” Katie said. “We just need to get the idea out there and hope the fans support it.”
She even suggested that Hulu could be the perfect place to bring the movie to life.
Friendship Beyond the Show
Even after the series ended, Katie, Meghann, and Aisha have stayed close friends. They often reunite and support each other’s work. Katie calls them her “sisters for life” and says they’ll always cheer each other on, no matter what.
Recently, Katie even predicted that Meghann would get an Emmy nomination for her role in Sirens. And guess what? Meghann did get nominated! Katie excitedly texted her, “I told you so!”
As for Aisha, Katie met up with her recently in Los Angeles after two years apart. They had a fun day together, even going to get Aisha’s ears pierced — something they had talked about for years.
Like a Real Family
Katie also mentioned that both Aisha and Meghann have made efforts to be a part of her daughter Rome’s life. Katie shares Rome with her husband Paul DiGiovanni. “We really are like a family,” she said. “That doesn’t always happen with co-stars, so I feel very lucky.”
Other Cast Members Are Also Interested
Katie isn’t the only one hoping for a return. Actor Sam Page, who played Richard, also said he would love to come back. He enjoyed working with Meghann (who played Sutton, his on-screen love interest) and said they even talked about possible spinoff ideas.
One idea was to explore Sutton’s journey starting her own fashion line while balancing work and family — something the show never got to fully explore. “It would be great to show how hard it is for a woman to have it all,” he said.
Where to Watch
If you’ve never seen The Bold Type or want to relive the magic, it’s currently streaming on Hulu. Also, catch Katie Stevens in the Hallmark Channel film series Providence Falls, with part two premiering Saturday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. ET.
