Lindsay Lohan just gave fans a nostalgic surprise at the London premiere of her new movie Freakier Friday. The 39-year-old actress, known for her iconic roles from the early 2000s, walked the red carpet on Thursday, July 31, wearing an outfit that honoured one of her most loved movie characters — Anna Coleman from the original Freaky Friday (2003).
A Glamorous Throwback to 2003
At the premiere, Lohan wore a beautiful bejeweled sheath gown that reminded fans of the dress her character Anna wore during the final scene of the original movie, when she performed on stage at her mother’s wedding. In the 2003 film, Anna wears a lilac gown with white lace across the waist, bust and hem, creating a soft and youthful look.
For this event, her stylist Andrew Mukamal gave the outfit a fresh and stylish update. The new dress was a custom creation by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. Instead of simple lace, the gown had white and silver gemstones, especially around the straps, hips and hemline, making it shimmer under the lights.
Complete With Guitar Bag and Soft Glam Makeup
Adding to the theme, Lindsay carried a red guitar-shaped Judith Leiber bag — a direct nod to the electric guitar she played in the final Freaky Friday scene. Her accessories also included diamond drop earrings and her engagement ring.
Her makeup was kept simple and fresh, so that all attention stayed on her outfit. She wore neutral shades — a soft pink blush, light nude lipstick, and a pinkish nude eyeshadow. Her blonde hair was styled in a relaxed blowout for an effortless, natural look.
Stylist Shares Then-and-Now Comparison
After the U.K. premiere, stylist Andrew Mukamal posted Instagram Stories showing side-by-side photos of Lindsay in both the original 2003 outfit and the new 2025 version. He captioned the post “ANNA💜COLEMAN” to mark the special fashion tribute.
More Homages to Her Earlier Films
Lindsay didn’t stop there. Earlier in the week, she also celebrated her very first movie, The Parent Trap, with not one, but two different fashion nods to her twin characters Annie James and Hallie Parker.
On Monday, July 28, during her Good Morning America appearance, she wore a bright yellow outfit that looked like the famous preppy cardigan and headband combo worn by Annie James in the 1998 film.
The outfit came from Balmain’s pre-spring 2026 collection and included a matching tweed jacket and miniskirt, along with bright yellow heels and a stylish black Birkin bag.
That same day, on Live with Kelly & Mark, Lindsay channeled her other Parent Trap character, Hallie Parker, in a cheongsam-inspired minidress by Roberto Cavalli. The dress had colourful patterns of birds and flowers, along with a corset-style waist and a mandarin collar.
Her accessories — tortoiseshell sunglasses and a hot pink mini bag — were also similar to what young Hallie wore in the film.
Lindsay Lohan is clearly having fun revisiting her classic roles while promoting her new movie, Freakier Friday. From honouring Anna Coleman’s rockstar style to bringing back outfits from The Parent Trap, she’s creating nostalgic moments for fans who grew up watching her.
With these thoughtful fashion choices, Lohan proves that her past characters still hold a special place in her heart. Fans can catch Freakier Friday in theatres starting August 8 — and maybe spot even more nods to her old-school looks.
