A 34-year-old mother from Louisville, Kentucky, is facing serious charges after police say she tried to cause a severe allergic reaction in her former mother-in-law — and even involved her own children in the plot.
Authorities say Tiffany Gregory tried to trick the victim into coming in contact with bell peppers, which she knew the woman was highly allergic to.
Ongoing Harassment Leads to Dangerous Plot
The disturbing case began after months of alleged harassment and threats. According to court records, the victim told Louisville Police that Gregory had been sending her threatening messages and had been seen driving past her house repeatedly.
In one early April incident, Gregory even allegedly sent the victim a video showing her in line at a local Walgreens — suggesting she had been following her.
But the threats didn’t stop there.
Allergen Used in Alleged Revenge Scheme
On July 7, Gregory reportedly picked up her two children, ages 8 and 11, and told them they were going to the zoo. But first, she said they needed to run a quick “errand.”
That errand? According to police, Gregory told her children to stomp on bell peppers — a food she knew her former mother-in-law was allergic to — and put them inside a birthday gift bag. She then instructed her children to deliver the bag to their grandmother’s porch.
However, the children, fully aware of their grandmother’s allergy, refused to go through with it. Instead, Gregory allegedly asked a friend to help.
Crushed Peppers and a Shocking Message
According to reports, Gregory’s friend placed the bag of crushed bell peppers on the victim’s car. Attached was a handwritten birthday card that read:
“You ruined my life. Enjoy your allergic reaction b—.”
Thankfully, the victim did not come in contact with the peppers. Her husband found the gift bag first and safely threw it away.
Previous Incident May Have Caused Hospitalization
This wasn’t the first suspected attack. Back in mid-June, Gregory reportedly told her children she was dropping off “legal paperwork” at their grandmother’s house. But instead, she allegedly rubbed a pink substance on the victim’s car door handle.
When the victim touched the door, she later ended up in the hospital due to an allergic reaction. Police believe this incident may also be tied to Gregory’s ongoing efforts to harm her former mother-in-law.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Tiffany Gregory was arrested and charged with:
First-degree wanton endangerment
Second-degree stalking
Unlawful transaction with a minor
She pleaded not guilty during her arraignment and is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond at the Louisville Metro Detention Center. Her next court date is set for August 7.
This shocking case from Louisville highlights how personal conflicts can dangerously spiral out of control. Allegedly using children in a plan to trigger a life-threatening allergic reaction not only puts lives at risk but also crosses serious legal and moral lines.
Authorities acted quickly, and fortunately, the victim avoided harm. With a court date approaching, Tiffany Gregory now faces serious consequences for her alleged actions.
