Ex-Maroon 5 Bassist Mickey Madden Accused of Assault by Wife Over Alleged Sexting with Teen Girls

Former Maroon 5 bassist Mickey Madden is facing serious accusations from his wife, Catherine Blair Bowman. She has claimed that Madden physically assaulted her after she confronted him about allegedly sexting with teenage girls. The claims are part of a restraining order request filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Bowman Seeks Legal Protection from Madden

On Wednesday, July 30, Bowman filed for a restraining order against the 46-year-old musician. The documents state that Madden is currently staying at a rehabilitation facility. A judge has granted a temporary restraining order, which will remain in place until a court hearing on August 20.

Interestingly, the restraining order also includes protection for the couple’s two huskies, Toast and Jam. The couple does not have any children.

What Led to the Alleged Incident

According to Bowman’s filing, the most recent incident took place on July 21, 2025. She said she received a disturbing message from a teenage girl who claimed to have exchanged sexual texts with Madden. “I was extremely hurt and disturbed,” Bowman wrote, adding that she felt the need to understand what was really happening.

When she confronted Madden and asked for his phone, he reportedly refused and began deleting messages. Bowman then grabbed the phone and ran outside. What followed, according to her, was violent.

Details of the Alleged Assault

Bowman claims Madden became furious and physically restrained her by wrapping his arms around her body and slamming her against the kitchen counter. “I felt pain in my hip and waist area,” she wrote. He allegedly shoved her to the ground, screaming at her to return the phone. She described the incident as deeply frightening and said he appeared “literally insane.”

Bowman also mentioned a separate incident from May 14, claiming Madden physically abused her and caused emotional harm. “I’m now terrified of him,” she wrote.

Screenshots Reveal Disturbing Messages

As part of the restraining order filing, Bowman included alleged screenshots of messages from Madden. In the texts, Madden described his sexting as a “fake harmless fantasy” and claimed it had “no bearing on real life.”

Bowman, however, called him out for texting 18-year-old girls and even referenced her own past experience with abuse. Madden allegedly responded, “I am beyond sorry… This was entirely relegated to text… I would never act on any of that.”

Other Allegations Against Madden

In her statement, Bowman also accused Madden of refusing to be intimate with her when she expressed her wish to have a child. She claimed that instead, he began sleeping with a prostitute.

Madden has had past run-ins with the law. In 2020, he was arrested on domestic violence charges and left Maroon 5 shortly after. In 2016, he was arrested for cocaine possession in New York City, though he later agreed to perform community service as part of a deal.

As of now, no representative for Madden has responded publicly to the allegations.

The accusations made by Catherine Blair Bowman against Mickey Madden are serious and paint a troubling picture of their relationship. From claims of physical abuse to emotional trauma and inappropriate messaging with teenage girls, the case is now headed to court for further proceedings on August 20.

These revelations not only affect Madden’s public image but also bring to light deeper issues of personal safety and accountability in relationships involving public figures.
