Natalie Portman Surprises Fans at Role Model's NYC Show

Natalie Portman made a surprise appearance during Role Model’s performance at Madison Square Garden on Monday, July 28. The actress joined Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, 28, onstage to dance with him during his viral hit “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.”

This unexpected moment quickly went viral on TikTok and Instagram, especially after it was shared by a Role Model fan page. Pillsbury himself posted the clip on his Instagram Stories with the playful caption “Sally Portman.”

Portman and Pillsbury’s Connection

Portman and Pillsbury have worked together as co-stars in the upcoming romantic comedy Good Sex, which is currently filming in New York City.

The movie is directed by Lena Dunham and stars a star-studded cast including Meg Ryan, Rashida Jones, Mark Ruffalo, and Tramell Tillman. This marks Pillsbury’s acting debut.

In Good Sex, Portman plays Ally, a couples therapist who, after a decade-long failed relationship, re-enters the New York dating scene at 40. She meets two men—a man in his 20s and one in his 50s—who show her that there’s no “perfect formula for good sex,” according to the movie’s official logline.

Role Model’s Viral Hit “Sally”

“Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” was released in February as part of Role Model’s album Kansas Anymore (Deluxe Edition). The song quickly gained popularity, and during the No Place Like Tour in February, Role Model invited influencer Jake Shane onstage during a show in Dallas.

Pillsbury explained that the crowd loved it, saying, “We were like, ‘Why not do this every night? It’ll be fun!’”

Since then, Role Model has invited fans to dance with him during the performance of “Sally.” At a show in Los Angeles at The Wiltern in April, actress Reneé Rapp joined him onstage as “Sally.”

What’s Next for Role Model and Portman?

Good Sex has not yet announced a release date, but Portman’s fans can also catch her in the film Fountain of Youth, which is now streaming on Apple TV+. As for Role Model, the singer’s No Place Like Tour continues to gather momentum with more surprises in store for fans.
