Gregg Glenn III, a standout player for the Tulane Green Wave men’s basketball team, has tragically passed away at the age of 22. Tulane University announced the heartbreaking news on Monday, revealing that Glenn died in a tragic accident over the weekend. The university did not disclose the cause of his death.
A Talented Athlete and Cherished Community Member
Sarah Cunningham, Tulane’s vice president of student affairs, expressed the school’s sorrow in a statement, saying:
“We have lost a cherished member of our university community, Gregg Glenn III, who died in a tragic accident this weekend. He was a talented student-athlete who enriched our lives with his spirit, dedication, and passion for both sports and academics.”
Cunningham went on to highlight Glenn’s outstanding contributions to the Tulane men’s basketball team, where he was known for his dedication, kindness, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
“Gregg was an outstanding athlete on our men’s basketball team and an individual who brought joy and light to those around him. His commitment to excellence inspired many of us.”
Career at Tulane
Glenn, originally from Pompano Beach, Florida, transferred to Tulane University in 2023 after spending his freshman year at Michigan.
During his time with the Green Wave, Glenn played an integral role on the team, averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. He started all 34 games for Tulane and was gearing up for his senior season.
