Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris are teaming up for a musical collaboration! After weeks of fun TikTok videos together, Ballerini, 31, opened up about their reunion and shared that the two country stars are now writing music together.
Reconnecting After Years
Ballerini shared that she and Morris hadn’t had the chance to catch up in years, despite both going through so much in their personal lives. “Maren and I haven’t had the chance to catch up in years, and we’ve both had so much life that’s happened,” Ballerini said.
She went on to explain that they recently reconnected, and Ballerini has always admired Morris’ songwriting and musicality. She invited Morris to Charleston, saying:
“Come on down to Charleston. Let’s write.”
A Fun, Relaxed Writing Session
During their time together, Ballerini says they had a few days of “girl time”. She added:
“It was me, her, and Alysa Vanderheym, and we wrote and went to dinners. It was not work. It was much more play than work.”
TikTok Fun and Teasing a Possible Collaboration
The two singers had previously shared playful TikTok videos together, sparking excitement among fans. On July 2, Maren Morris posted a TikTok video set to Lorde’s verse in the remix of Charli XCX’s song “Girl, so confusing,” where she and Ballerini walked side by side down a brick walkway.
In another TikTok shared by Ballerini, they enjoyed drinks while a Justin Bieber track played. She captioned the post, “We’re standing on business.”
Morris also jokingly commented on the post:
“Were you bonesided or were you just boned?” — a playful reference to lyrics from Ballerini’s song “Blindsided” and her own hit, “The Bones.”
Fans were quick to express their excitement, hoping this fun duo might be teasing a collaboration.
Ballerini Reflects on Her Future and Upcoming Shows
Ballerini also shared that she’s looking forward to her upcoming shows in Australia but is learning to embrace moments of stillness.
“I wish I could sit here and tell you I had a bunch up my sleeve. I really don’t for the first time in a long time, and I’m learning to be comfortable with that,” she said.
New Releases
In March, Ballerini released the deluxe version of her album Patterns, while Morris released her album Dreamsicle in May.
