Santa Cruz Mountains, California – A tragic head-on collision on Saturday afternoon claimed the lives of two motorcycle riders in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2008 Tesla Model 3, occurring around 4:45 p.m. on Highway 9, just south of Highway 35.

Details of the Incident

Motorcycle Riders: A 61-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, both from Hayward, were riding the Harley Davidson when the crash occurred. Both riders were thrown onto the road after the impact and tragically died at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

Tesla Driver: The 18-year-old woman driving the Tesla was traveling northbound and did not sustain any injuries. She is from San Jose.

Investigations and Next Steps

Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
