Liz Lee Says She's 'Squashed Beef' with Former My Life as Liz Rival, Plans 'Nerd Herd' Reunion

Liz Lee, the star of the 2010 MTV series My Life as Liz, is finding closure and reconnecting with her former classmates and even her former rival, Cori Cooper, as she reflects on her brief reality TV journey.

In recent TikTok posts, the 34-year-old artist shared that she has “squashed beef” with Cori, offering a heartfelt update on their relationship and their shared experiences from the show.

Reconnecting with Cori Cooper

Lee revealed that she and Cooper had a “really good talk” after Lee reached out to her through DMs. Cooper, who was portrayed as a “villain” on the show, had been sharing her own experiences on TikTok, where she opened up about the negative impact the series had on her.

Lee expressed that this conversation was incredibly healing for both of them, as they found empathy for each other’s experiences. She admitted that neither of them had fully understood the impact of being on the show at the time, but now they could look back with more understanding.

Lee explained, “Without all of this renewed interest, I wouldn’t have found her TikTok, where she started making TikToks about her experience. And it seems pretty awful, what she went through. I just felt so much empathy for her because we were both collateral damage from this machine.”

Cooper’s Perspective on the Show

Cori Cooper shared her side of the story on TikTok, revealing that she didn’t realize she would be portrayed as a villain. She described how the show’s producers would tell her what to say and how to act, pushing her to “be meaner” at times.

Cooper clarified that although she was 18 and signed her own contract, she wasn’t fully aware of how the show would portray her. “I was told that this was a show about high school life and what it’s like to be in high school. And it was not,” she said, explaining that much of the footage filmed was never aired.

Cooper also responded to critics who accused her of not taking responsibility for her actions, stating, “I never said that I didn’t own it… I just said that it wasn’t… the show was very one-sided.”

A My Life as Liz Reunion on Twitch

In addition to reconciling with Cori, Liz Lee is planning a reunion of sorts with her My Life as Liz castmates. Lee announced that she would be watching the series live on Twitch, where she will be joined by her former co-stars from the “nerd herd” — Sully, Troy, Zona, and Miles. Lee excitedly shared that they would be offering live commentary as they revisit the show.

“Those who were once affectionately referred to as ‘the nerd herd,’ the proud, the few. They are going to join me for live commentary on My Life as Liz on Twitch,” Lee said in a video posted on July 22.

Lee is also working on getting Taylor Terry to join the stream, and even mentioned that Cori Cooper might participate, too. “Even Cori said she’d be down, so stay tuned,” Lee added.

Reflecting on the Legacy of My Life as Liz

My Life as Liz, which aired for two seasons, followed Liz Lee as she navigated her high school life and relationships in her Texas hometown. The show gained a cult following, with the “nerd herd” and their quirky dynamics making a lasting impact. The reunion and reflection on the show have sparked nostalgia for fans who followed Liz’s journey.

As Lee and her former co-stars reconnect, fans can look forward to a fresh perspective on the reality series, with a new understanding of what went on behind the scenes.
