West Melbourne, Florida – A 22-year-old man, Jeremyah Campbell, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his grandparents after he allegedly gunned down his grandmother and grandfather during a violent shooting spree in West Melbourne, Florida.

The Tragic Sequence of Events

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the violent incident began on Wednesday night at around 8 p.m., when Campbell allegedly shot his grandmother, Mary White, multiple times inside the couple’s home.

After killing his grandmother, he turned his attention to his grandfather, George White, who had rushed outside to a neighbor’s house, begging for help.

One of the neighbors, identified as Terry French, reported that George White had approached his door, asking for help and stating that his wife had been shot. As George was trying to seek assistance, Campbell allegedly fired another round, hitting George White inside the neighbor’s home.

Neighbor’s Granddaughter Shot

During this chaotic situation, Terry French’s 25-year-old granddaughter, who was inside the house at the time, was struck by the gunfire. Fortunately, she survived the attack with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

French shared his harrowing account of the incident, explaining that George White was desperately trying to escape from the gunfire by seeking refuge in the bathroom after being shot. French said that the gunshots came from a 9mm pistol, and his home’s door had been pierced by the rounds fired by Campbell.

A Community in Shock

Neighbors expressed their shock and fear after hearing the gunshots and witnessing the terrifying scene unfold. Shea Stewart, a nearby resident, described the sequence of gunshots, noting that after a brief pause, there was a final, devastating shot, followed by a woman’s scream.
