Kelly Clarkson is the latest artist to sell a stake in her music catalog. The 43-year-old Grammy winner and talk show host has made a deal with HarbourView Equity Partners, an investment firm that will acquire a portion of her life’s works. The announcement was made on Thursday, July 24.

The financial terms of the deal have not been publicly disclosed.

Clarkson’s Emotional Statement

“My music is such a huge part of my journey – not just professionally, but personally,” Kelly Clarkson said in a statement. “Knowing these songs will continue to be heard and discovered by new generations means everything to me. I’m grateful to HarbourView for valuing and supporting this catalogue the way they do.”

Some of her biggest hits included in the deal are: “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You,” “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” and “Underneath the Tree.”

HarbourView’s Support for Clarkson’s Legacy

Sherrese Clarke, the Founder and CEO of HarbourView Equity Partners, praised Clarkson’s talent and influence, saying, “Kelly Clarkson is a one-of-a-kind artist whose voice and songwriting have left a permanent mark on music and pop culture.

In addition to her musical genius, Kelly is a multi-hyphenate in entertainment, which is very aligned with our platform at HarbourView, which invests across the broad entertainment segment.”

Clarke described Clarkson’s catalog as one “filled with anthems that have defined moments for millions of people,” and added, “We’re thrilled to partner with Kelly and help ensure these songs continue resonating for decades to come.”

Clarkson’s Career Achievements

Since launching her career as the first winner of American Idol in 2002, Clarkson has sold over 25 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide.

Her career highlights include 17 multi-Platinum, Platinum, or Gold-certified singles, multiple American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and eight Daytime Emmy Awards as the host of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Clarkson’s Latest Projects

In addition to her music career, Clarkson was recently announced as a judge on The Voice for the competition’s 29th season, which will air in spring 2026. She will join fellow judges John Legend and Adam Levine for a major revamp of the show.

Earlier this month, Clarkson kicked off her second Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. However, the residency started with some setbacks. The singer had to cancel two shows on July 4 to protect her voice, explaining that “prep and rehearsals had taken a toll” on her vocal cords.

An insider shared with PEOPLE that Clarkson was “devastated” about the cancellations, as she “didn’t want to cancel any shows.”

When Clarkson returned to the stage on July 11, she celebrated with her audience, taking a shot of tequila and sharing, “I’m celebrating because I had to cancel last weekend. I cried. I was so sick, it sucked. I’m so happy to be here.”
