A chilling murder case in California has taken a surprising turn, as lawyers for a man accused of killing and dismembering his wife have raised concerns about his mental competence.
Valentino Gutierrez, 64, stands charged with the murder of his wife, Tiana Alfred, 31, in a particularly gruesome case that shocked both investigators and the public. However, the case has been temporarily suspended following a request for a mental-competency hearing.
