Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Share Emotional Reactions to Emmy Nominations

Dax Shepard is celebrating his wife Kristen Bell’s exciting 2025 Emmy Awards nomination in a very unconventional way!

The actress received an Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for her role as Joanne in the romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This. To mark the occasion, Shepard, 50, shared a playful and intimate tribute on Instagram.

The photo showed Bell, 44, striking a downward dog pose in their backyard while wearing nothing but bright blue knee-high socks.

“People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen’s,” Shepard wrote in his caption. “This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”

A Couple’s Journey Together

Shepard and Bell’s relationship dates back to 2007 when they first met at a dinner party. After a year of dating, they got engaged in 2010. The couple, who had been waiting for gay marriage to be legalized in California, finally tied the knot in October 2013. They later became parents to two daughters: Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9.

Along with Shepard’s quirky and loving post, Bell shared her own reaction to the nomination. She posted a Zoom snapshot of herself and series creator Erin Foster during an ADR session for the series’ second season.

In one image, both women had their mouths open in surprise as they learned about Bell’s Emmy nomination, while the second picture showed Bell capturing a tearful moment of Foster celebrating the news.

The Show’s Success

The romantic comedy Nobody Wants This didn’t only land Bell a nomination, but it also scored a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series.

This means Erin Foster also received an Emmy nomination for her work as a producer. Bell’s nomination places her alongside other heavyweights in comedy, including Ayo Edebiri from The Bear, Jean Smart from Hacks, Quinta Brunson from Abbott Elementary, and Uzo Aduba from The Residence.

In addition to Bell’s recognition, Adam Brody was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Rabbi Noah Roklov in Nobody Wants This. He shares the spotlight with nominees like Jason Segel from Shrinking, Jeremy Allen White from The Bear, Martin Short from Only Murders in the Building, and Seth Rogen from The Studio.

The 77th Emmy Awards

The 77th Annual Emmy Awards will air live on Sunday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS. It promises to be an exciting night as the stars of television come together to celebrate the best performances and shows.

A Loving Tribute

In response to Bell’s post, Shepard couldn’t resist adding a playful comment: “May you only listen to ‘Strut’ by Steven Seagal all day long. You’ve earned it!!!!” With their lighthearted and supportive bond, the couple continues to capture the hearts of their fans.
