In an exciting new development, Sandra Vergara, sister of Modern Family star Sofía Vergara, is officially joining the cast of Netflix’s Selling Sunset for its highly anticipated season 9.
The Los Angeles-based reality show, which follows a group of elite realtors at the Oppenheim Group, has just added a fresh face to its dynamic cast—Sandra Vergara.
A New Addition to the Oppenheim Group
On Monday, July 14, Netflix announced that Sandra Vergara would be joining the cast of Selling Sunset for season 9, where she will step into the world of high-stakes luxury real estate with the Oppenheim Group.
In a fun Instagram Stories post following the announcement, Sandra teased, “I guess the cat’s out of the bag,” sharing her excitement for this new chapter in her career.
Sandra will be joining returning cast members including Chrishell Stause, Chelsea Lazkani, Emma Hernan, Nicole Young, Alanna Gold, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Bre Tiesi, and Jason and Brett Oppenheim.
According to the press release, season 9 promises to bring more intense competition and jaw-dropping moments as agents vie for the most exclusive listings in Los Angeles.
Sandra’s Impressive Background
Sandra Vergara, 24, is no stranger to the entertainment industry. She previously worked as a Los Angeles correspondent for PEOPLE (the TV Show!) and has appeared in notable TV shows like CSI, Nip/Tuck, and The Bold and the Beautiful.
A former E! personality who worked alongside RuPaul, Sandra’s career spans across acting, journalism, and luxury real estate—making her the perfect fit for the competitive world of Selling Sunset.
In a press release, Sandra spoke about her excitement for joining the Oppenheim Group, saying, “The O Group felt like the perfect fit: sharp, high energy, and full of people who are at the top of their game.”
She also expressed her enthusiasm for the world of real estate, noting, “I’ve always had an eye for design and a love for people, so combining that in real estate just clicked.”
Expecting Twists and Drama in Season 9
Selling Sunset fans are already anticipating the drama that will unfold in season 9. The show is known for its fierce competition among agents, office politics, and stunning Los Angeles properties, and Sandra’s addition is sure to bring new dynamics to the mix.
Season 8 ended on a dramatic note with multiple conflicts between cast members, including Chrishell Stause, Nicole Young, and others. According to Selling Sunset creator Adam DiVello, season 9 will pick up right where the last season left off, addressing the tensions and moving forward with fresh new stories.
“There was a lot of strife in the office and a lot of hurt feelings, so we pick up and try to get past that as quickly as possible,” DiVello explained.
Release Date and More Drama
Although Netflix hasn’t officially set a release date for season 9 yet, fans can expect new episodes soon. In November 2024, Selling Sunset star Amanza Smith confirmed via TikTok that season 9 was on its way, sharing the caption “and we’re back 🎬.” The show was briefly paused in January 2025 due to the Los Angeles wildfires, but filming has since resumed.
In addition to the team drama, Chrishell has confirmed that her ongoing feud with Nicole Young will continue in the new season. While initially swearing off working with Nicole again, Chrishell later hinted at the possibility of changing her mind for the right price, making for even more intriguing dynamics ahead.
