Triple-Digit Temperatures and Thunderstorms: South Texas Weather Alert

Corpus Christi, Texas – Dangerous heat continues across South Texas this week, with temperatures soaring past 100°F and scattered thunderstorms expected through Friday. The region, from the Victoria Crossroads to the Brush Country, including Laredo, Alice, and Beeville, will experience highs ranging from 98°F to 103°F.

Weather Highlights for the Week

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Monday will bring a 30% chance of isolated storms, particularly in Victoria and Cotulla.

From Tuesday to Thursday, conditions will remain mostly dry, with a slight chance of rain (10–20%). On Friday, the rain chance slightly increases to 25% as moisture builds across the region.

In Corpus Christi, daytime highs will hover around 101°F, with nighttime lows in the mid to upper 70s. Southeast winds of 5–15 mph will provide only limited relief. Beachgoers can expect wave heights of 2 to 4 feet and a low rip current risk. However, extreme UV levels will require sunscreen and hydration precautions.

Safety Tips for the Heat

Residents are strongly urged to limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon heat, which is expected to last throughout the week. It’s crucial to check on elderly neighbors, avoid leaving pets or children in vehicles, and take regular breaks in cool, shaded areas.

This heat event is reminiscent of July 2022, when Corpus Christi experienced five consecutive days of triple-digit temperatures.

If humidity levels rise, additional advisories may be issued. Residents should continue monitoring National Weather Service updates throughout the week to stay informed and prepared.
