Teddi Mellencamp and Erika Jayne have voiced their support for Denise Richards following the shocking divorce filing by her husband Aaron Phypers.
The two reality stars, known for their candid discussions on their podcast Two Ts in a Pod, criticized Phypers’ actions after he filed for divorce on July 7, citing “irreconcilable differences” and listing the date of separation as July 4.
Strong Words for Phypers
In the podcast episode, Jayne didn’t hold back when discussing Phypers’ divorce filing. She pointed out that he was asking for spousal support from Richards, which she found particularly problematic given that Richards is a working mom.
Jayne noted Richards’ busy career, mentioning that she has two daughters, Sami and Lola, from her previous marriage to Charlie Sheen, along with her adopted daughter, Eloise.
Jayne’s anger was evident, stating, “Come on, man. Don’t do this.” Mellencamp agreed, sharing that Phypers was asking for “a lot” of money, despite Richards’ financial independence and responsibilities as a mother. Jayne also criticized the fact that Phypers had not claimed Eloise in the divorce petition, despite previously stating his intention to adopt her.
Criticism of Phypers’ Divorce Filing
Mellencamp and Jayne also took issue with Phypers’ filing, where he stated that he and Richards “have no children together,” even though Eloise had been living with them since their marriage in September 2018.
This omission did not sit well with the podcast hosts, with Mellencamp calling Phypers a “douchelord” and expressing that very few men are as easy to despise as he is.
Both women also pointed out the irony of Phypers asking for financial support when he had previously admitted that he had not been earning any income since closing his wellness business in 2024.
Mellencamp and Jayne’s Shared History with Phypers
Mellencamp and Jayne are no strangers to Aaron Phypers, as they both had disagreements with him during their shared time on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The pair’s previous interactions with Phypers have clearly left them with little sympathy for him in the wake of his divorce filing.
Both Mellencamp and Jayne made it clear that they believe Aaron Phypers is behaving in a way that is deeply unfair to Denise Richards. They voiced their frustration, urging him to “leave [Denise] the f— alone” and criticizing his behavior throughout the divorce process.
Mellencamp did not mince words, labeling him a “douchelord” and a man who is easy to despise. Their words reflect their support for Richards during this difficult time.
