Priyanka Chopra Jonas opened up about her husband’s early career in a recent interview, revealing which of Nick Jonas’ projects she enjoys the most—and which she’s not quite as fond of.
Appearing on the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast on Thursday, July 3, the Quantico alum, 42, shared some fun insights into her and Nick’s relationship, specifically their shared love for revisiting each other’s work.
While discussing their early careers, Chopra Jonas admitted that, before they got together, neither of them knew much about the other’s professional past.
She said, “We knew of each other, maybe. Like, of course, I knew of the Jonas Brothers,” though she jokingly added that they were from “a different generation.”
A Show and Tell of Careers
Chopra Jonas shared that after they got married in 2018, she and Nick would have a “show and tell” session with a bottle of wine, where they’d watch clips from each other’s past work. This playful exchange led to Chopra Jonas discovering some of Nick’s earlier roles that she hadn’t seen before.
“I’ve seen Jonas. I think that show is amazing,” Chopra Jonas gushed, referring to Jonas, Nick’s Disney Channel sitcom that aired for two seasons between 2009 and 2010. The show followed the Jonas Brothers as they navigated life as teen rock stars.
In addition to Jonas, Chopra Jonas mentioned that she also enjoyed watching Married to Jonas, the reality show about Nick’s older brother Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle. The show aired for two seasons from 2012 to 2013 and gave viewers a glimpse into the family’s life away from the spotlight.
Camp Rock…Not So Much
However, when it came to the Camp Rock franchise, Chopra Jonas had a slightly different opinion. “Camp Rock, not as much,” she admitted.
Camp Rock, a 2008 Disney Channel Original Movie, featured Nick Jonas alongside Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, and his brothers. While the movie was a massive hit for Disney Channel fans, it seems Chopra Jonas wasn’t as captivated by the film. The movie’s success led to a sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, in 2010.
That being said, Chopra Jonas did hint that her feelings might change if the beloved franchise were to make a return. “I’m very excited about the new Camp Rock movie,” she teased, referring to the long-rumored third film. Could there be a third installment on the way? Fans are hoping for some more Jonas magic, and Chopra Jonas seems open to the possibility.
A Disney-Filled Household with Malti
The conversation then shifted to their 3-year-old daughter Malti, with Chopra Jonas revealing that the little one has some very specific favorite Disney characters.
“Frozen, Moana, and Minnie Mouse are her favorite characters,” she shared, adding that “Daisy, sometimes, will get a cameo here and there,” referring to their pet dog. The family has recently also warmed up to Lilo & Stitch in their household.
As Chopra Jonas noted, it seems that princesses are taking center stage at the moment in their home, with Disney princesses like Elsa from Frozen and Moana getting plenty of attention.
