In a shocking case out of Dayton, Ohio, a man is behind bars after allegedly shooting another man at a bar — all because of jealousy over a woman. The suspect is now facing serious charges and reportedly joked about the incident while in jail.
What Happened at Pat’s Bar?
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of June 22, 2025, at Pat’s Bar in Dayton. According to police, 27-year-old Jacob Brady shot a 23-year-old man during an argument.
The victim, whose name has not been shared for privacy reasons, was reportedly dating a woman that Brady was interested in. Witnesses said the woman had no interest in Brady.
Police responded to reports of gunfire and arrived to find witnesses who confirmed a shooting had taken place. A bartender at the bar provided video footage that clearly showed Brady firing two shots at the victim. Bullet casings were later recovered from the scene.
Victim in Critical Condition
The man who was shot was seriously injured and took a ride-share to the hospital. He is currently in critical condition, according to local reports. Police said Brady admitted to the shooting but claimed he acted in self-defense, saying the other man was threatening him.
However, witnesses told police they did not hear the victim make any threats.
Suspect’s Chilling Reaction
What shocked investigators even more was Brady’s behavior after his arrest. While in the Montgomery County Jail, he reportedly laughed about the shooting and even joked with other inmates. According to court documents, Brady was heard saying, “I’m gonna put that on a t-shirt — ‘BLAM, that boy down.’”
Charges and Legal Status
Brady is currently facing multiple charges including felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of probation violation. He is being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $250,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 3, 2025.
This case highlights the dangerous mix of jealousy, ego, and violence. A disagreement over a woman ended with someone fighting for their life and another man potentially facing years behind bars.
While the victim’s recovery is still uncertain, the justice system is moving quickly to hold the shooter accountable. The suspect’s lack of remorse only adds to the seriousness of the crime.
