Katharine McPhee Foster had an adorable crime-fighting moment with her 4-year-old son, Rennie, on June 25. The singer and actress, 41, shared a sweet video on Instagram where Rennie, dressed in a full Spider-Man costume, recruits his mom to join him in fighting bad guys.
Rennie’s Spider-Man Transformation
In the video, Rennie can be seen sitting on the stairs wearing a full Spider-Man outfit, complete with boots, gloves, and a full-face mask. McPhee Foster leans in and playfully asks, “Spider-Man! Is it you, the real Spider-Man?” Rennie nods yes, looking through the mask at his mom.
A Mom’s Request for a Hug
McPhee Foster, clearly excited, says, “I have been waiting my whole life to meet you” before reaching out to shake hands with her superhero son. She then asks, “Can I have a hug?” before rubbing noses with him.
Fighting Bad Guys Together?
The mom-of-one asks Rennie if she can help him fight bad guys. Rennie, in his tiny superhero voice, responds, “No. Cause you do not have a Spider suit. You have to have a helmet and a spacesuit to help me fight everybody.”
McPhee Foster humorously suggests buying a suit on Amazon so she can join in on the fun, but Rennie quickly answers, “No. We have grown-up ones here.” McPhee Foster responds with a smile, “Oh. We have grown-up ones?” and the video ends.
Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s Family Life
McPhee Foster shares Rennie with her husband, David Foster. Last year, McPhee Foster revealed that her son had started taking an interest in playing the drums. However, she later shared with PEOPLE that Rennie lost interest, much to David’s disappointment.
McPhee Foster said, “We were never making him play. We were never demanding that he play. But he’s just sort of lost interest.” She added, “He’s very much into me. Obviously, I’ll take it ‘cause I love it, but he’s really into everything Mommy—just being active, running, and playing with his toys.”
Despite his brief hiatus from the drums, McPhee Foster’s love for spending time with Rennie shines through in the sweet video she shared with fans.
