Jonathan Knight shocked his fans on June 25 by revealing that HGTV has decided to cancel his popular show, Farmhouse Fixer. The announcement came through an emotional post on his Instagram alongside a promotional photo for the show.
“Having the best time doing my residency in Vegas with NKOTB. A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer,” Knight wrote. “I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season.”
He continued by expressing his feelings about the cancellation, saying he’s still “processing the reasons” behind the decision but showed gratitude to fans: “Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past 3 seasons.
Television has been so incredibly fun for us. We are so proud of what we created together and look forward to sharing what’s next for us.”
Farmhouse Fixer followed Knight and his long-time friend Kristina Crestin as they renovated historic farmhouses in New England. The show was loved for showcasing the charm, history, and nostalgia of New England homes.
A Spinoff and Other Projects
In addition to Farmhouse Fixer, the show also led to a spinoff series, Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp, which aired in 2024. This series featured Jonathan’s brother, Jordan Knight, and continued the family’s involvement in TV projects. Jonathan has also appeared on the last two seasons of HGTV’s Rock the Block.
HGTV’s Recent Cancellations
This is not the first cancellation at HGTV this week. On June 22, Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas, the stars of Bargain Block, shared on Instagram that their show may not be airing much longer. The duo restores homes in Detroit for first-time buyers, and they mentioned the challenges they’ve faced in the television industry.
“The last six months have been a pretty wild journey. Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist,” they wrote. Despite the uncertain future, they expressed excitement for what’s ahead.
Additionally, Egypt Sherrod and her husband Mike Jackson announced on June 24 that their show, Married to Real Estate, was also allegedly canceled after four seasons. The couple shared that they found out the news during a family trip through the Mediterranean, but they expressed deep gratitude for the show’s success and their supportive fans.
On the same day, Izzy Battres, star of Izzy Does It, revealed that his show won’t be returning for another season. He expressed thanks to fans in the comments on his Instagram post: “We didn’t get the green light for a second season, but we’re leaving this experience full of gratitude.”
Jonathan Knight’s announcement about the end of Farmhouse Fixer marks a significant change, but like other stars in the HGTV world, he remains grateful for the experience and looks forward to the future.
