Why Tallulah Willis Decided to Post Rare Family Photo with Bruce Willis

Tallulah Willis is explaining why she decided to share a rare moment of family time with her dad, Bruce Willis.

On Sunday, June 22, Tallulah, 31, posted photos on Instagram of her family visiting her grandmother’s home. The pictures showed Tallulah hugging her dad, as well as Bruce and Tallulah’s fiancé, Justin Acee, posing happily for a photo together.

In the caption, Tallulah wrote, “Sunday funday at Grams! Grateful 🕊️.” She later shared the deeper meaning behind the post. “As a family, we use our discretion when posting. Today was a great day filled with smiles. I made the judgment call to show that to the world, because I know what he means to everyone,” Tallulah wrote in a comment under the post.

The post was met with many kind comments from fans. One person wrote, “I love when you post photos making memories with your dad. I was my mother’s caregiver, and she passed away in April from dementia. I cherish the memories I made with her, during hospice, forever ❤️.” Another comment read, “As a dad, I’m telling you that the hug you gave him was priceless. ❤️.”

In February 2023, Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, announced that Bruce had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). In a statement, Emma, 47, expressed the family’s gratitude for all the love and support they had received after sharing Bruce’s diagnosis.

She wrote, “Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).” She added that while it was painful, it was a relief to have a clearer diagnosis.

Bruce’s family had previously shared that in 2022, Bruce decided to “step away from acting” after being diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affected his ability to communicate.
