A tragic shooting inside a McDonald’s in Brandon, Mississippi, has left a 25-year-old mother of two dead. Kianna Jackson, a beloved mother and daughter, was shot and killed in an apparent domestic violence incident on Monday, June 16, 2024.
The suspect, 27-year-old Jhonterryes Dampier, is believed to have shot Jackson before turning the gun on himself.

The shooting occurred at a McDonald’s located on Stribling Lane in Brandon, about 10 miles from Jackson, Mississippi. Police arrived at the scene just before 7 p.m. to find Jackson deceased from a gunshot wound.
Dampier, from Mendenhall, Mississippi, had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was rushed to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, June 18.
The incident is believed to have stemmed from a domestic situation, and reports suggest that Jackson and Dampier shared two children together. The shooting took place in front of their young children, ages 5 and 3, adding to the tragedy of the event.

Brandon Mayor Butch Lee expressed his sadness over the tragic event, calling it “horrible” and emphasizing the tragedy of domestic violence happening in front of children. “Our prayers go out to everyone connected to those involved,” he said.
Jackson’s family and friends have been left devastated by her loss. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to raise funds for her funeral expenses and to support her young children.
The campaign described Jackson as a “cherished mother” and a “beloved daughter, sister, and friend.” As of June 22, the GoFundMe had raised over $15,000 towards a $22,000 goal.

The McDonald’s location where the shooting occurred, operated by O’Ferrall Management Group, expressed their sorrow in a statement. They extended their thoughts and prayers to the victims’ family and promised to assist law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
