Love is blooming for Next Gen NYC star Brooks Marks. In the June 17 episode of the reality show, the 25-year-old, who first gained attention on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, shared that he is in a relationship with his boyfriend Kade, calling him “the most handsome man.”
Brooks and Kade’s Relationship
Brooks, son of RHOSLC stars Seth and Meredith Marks, revealed the romantic news during a conversation with his father. When Seth asked about the couple’s golf plans, Brooks explained that although Kade isn’t a fan of the sport, he’s still pretty good at it.
Brooks went on to share how he and Kade met, saying, “We met in Park City. I was out with my mom during Sundance and, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the most handsome man. We danced, like, all night long. We had a little kiss.”
He gushed about Kade being “the most incredible boyfriend ever,” but admitted that distance remains a challenge for the couple, as Kade splits his time between Austin and Los Angeles. “So every time he’s here, I’m like, ‘What can I do to make you never want to leave again?’” Brooks said.
Seth Marks’ Probing Questions
In typical reality TV fashion, Seth pushed the conversation further, asking about Brooks and Kade’s sex life in an attempt to bond with his son. “How’s your sex life?” Seth asked. Brooks quickly shut down the conversation, saying, “That’s not something that I need to talk to my dad about.”
Seth, however, continued his questioning, focusing on the idea of a “deeper, emotional connection.” He also asked about Brooks and Kade’s “body counts,” referring to how many people they had slept with.
Seth’s overprotective nature came through as he said, “I just want to make sure you know that before you give him your heart completely, that it’s mutual.”
Despite Seth’s well-meaning but intrusive questions, Brooks was firm in setting boundaries. “I don’t want to see my kids get their hearts crushed,” Seth added, clearly concerned about his son’s well-being.
Brooks Reflects on His Experience with Public Scrutiny
Brooks’ revelation about his relationship comes after he previously opened up about his struggles with having his sexuality discussed publicly.
On the June 10 episode of Next Gen NYC, Brooks reflected on how difficult it was to face the backlash after his sexuality was openly discussed on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
“What I went through with my sexuality being discussed on TV, facing the backlash that I did, made me feel so insecure and, like, worthless,” Brooks admitted.
“Trying to come into your own is difficult enough, but let alone when thousands of people are weighing in on it, giving their unsolicited opinion about someone who they’ve seen five minutes of on TV, definitely cuts a lot deeper.”
Despite the challenges, Brooks continues to navigate his personal life in front of the cameras, showcasing his relationship and growth.
