In an emotional moment before beginning her journey with breast cancer treatment, Jessie J reflected on her last show before surgery.
On June 15, the 37-year-old singer performed at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, where she shared heartfelt words with the crowd.
A Special Final Show Before Surgery
During her performance, Jessie J told the audience, “This is my last show before I go to beat breast cancer!” The singer was visibly moved as she acknowledged how significant the performance was for her.
She added, “So it’s so special to me, you have no idea,” expressing her gratitude for the life she’s lived. Jessie also took the time to thank her fans, career, son, and family for their unwavering support.
“I’m so grateful for this life,” she said. “My family, my band, my crew. We are so lucky, we have so much to live for, so much joy, so many things to do.” Jessie shares her 2-year-old son, Sky, with her boyfriend, Chanan Safir Colman, whom she has been with since 2021.
The crowd of around 75,000 people witnessed a powerful moment as Jessie J acknowledged how much she cherished the people and moments in her life.
A Reflective Instagram Story
After the show, Jessie J took to Instagram to reflect on the night and share her feelings. She began her story with a lighthearted post, explaining what she did after the show:
“If you ever wonder what I do after a show.
First I went to dinner with some beautiful inspiring friends and now I’ve got home, showered first, oilatum cream thick on my face so I look like Mrs. Doubtfire.”
But it wasn’t long before her tone turned more emotional. She continued:
“While the house is dark and everyone is asleep. I’ve unpacked my bags, done some house chores, washed Sky’s cup and put washing away.
Now I’m sitting in Sky’s room just staring at him. Having a needed well-earned cry. Happy and scared tears. This boy. My whole heart. What a special day today was.”
Jessie also shared a humorous post, joking that she hoped her son wouldn’t wake up to find her looking like Mrs. Doubtfire because of the thick cream on her face.
Jessie J’s Cancer Diagnosis
Earlier this month, on June 3, Jessie J opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis in an emotional Instagram video. She revealed that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer before the release of her song “No Secrets”.
jessie emphasized the importance of the word “early” in her diagnosis, saying, “Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word early.”
The singer has been in and out of tests since her diagnosis and is preparing for surgery as part of her breast cancer treatment.
