Todd and Savannah Chrisley’s First Hug After His Release—Watch the Emotional Moment

In a heartwarming moment captured on video, Todd Chrisley and his daughter Savannah Chrisley reunited after Todd’s release from prison.

Todd, who had spent over two years behind bars, was pardoned by President Donald Trump on May 27, 2023. The video, shared by TMZ, shows the emotional reunion between the father and daughter.

Todd and Savannah’s Emotional Reunion

The video, filmed on May 28, shows Savannah, 27, wearing a pink “Trump” sweater and a “Make America Great Again” hat as she runs to hug her father, Todd, 56, immediately after his release from Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida. The moment is filled with emotion as they embrace each other tightly.

After the hug, the pair walks over to a waiting car. It’s believed they were headed to meet Julie Chrisley, Todd’s wife and Savannah’s mother, who was also released the same day from Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Savannah’s brother, Grayson, 19, picked up Julie from the facility.

The Chrisley Family’s Legal Troubles

Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, 52, were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in November 2022. However, their sentences were later reduced by about two years each.

The couple has been incarcerated since January 2023 and had been appealing their case. After several attempts, they were both pardoned by President Trump on May 27, 2023.

Trump, 79, had stated that Todd and Julie received “pretty harsh treatment” and spoke about how their children were impacted. In a phone call with the Chrisley kids, Trump expressed his hope that the family would soon be reunited.

Savannah’s Gratitude and Family Moments

Before Todd’s release, Savannah was waiting outside the prison in Florida and shared how grateful she felt. “I am just so grateful that I am gonna leave here with my dad,” she said.

On May 29, Savannah shared a touching photo of her parents, Todd and Julie, reunited. The image only showed their legs as they sat together, with the caption “Reunited and it feels so good!”

Julie made her first public appearance on May 29, running errands in Nashville with a smile and her natural gray hair, showing that life was returning to normal for the family.

Todd Chrisley’s Press Conference

On May 30, Todd held his first public press conference in Nashville since his release. During the conference, Todd shared the moment he found out he had been pardoned. He described how a staff member told him the news, and he immediately called Savannah to confirm it was true.

Todd also reflected on his time in prison, saying that while he was excited to be going home, he couldn’t stop thinking about the other men he had made friendships with during his time behind bars.

He recalled how the other prisoners lined up to cheer him as he left the facility, saying, “Don’t forget us.”
