Authorities in High Ridge, Missouri, are searching for Mason Williams, a 24-year-old man accused of brutally abusing his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son, 2-year-old daughter, and the family dog.
Williams faces numerous charges, including 11 counts of child abuse, domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and animal abuse, following incidents that reportedly occurred between April 16 and May 8.
Shocking Details of the Abuse
According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, the abuse was captured on home security cameras. The first incident involved the family dog, which Williams allegedly tried to control.
When the dog refused to obey, Williams was heard on video threatening the dog, saying, “I’ll f—ing snipe you in your God damn [inaudible].”
He then proceeded to grab the dog by the neck, holding it down while it yelped in pain. A witness reported that Williams then threw the dog into the kitchen table.
The abuse of the children began soon after. On April 28, Williams allegedly entered the boy’s bedroom, aggressively picking him up by his collar and repeatedly hitting him on the backside while the child cried hysterically.
In another disturbing incident, Williams shoved a rag into the 2-year-old girl’s mouth, nearly suffocating her.
Continued Abuse and Threats
Williams’ actions did not stop there. According to the affidavit, there were several other instances where Williams violently abused the boy, even when the child wasn’t doing anything wrong, such as watching TV or eating. The boy was reportedly screaming and begging Williams to stop during the beatings.
In another incident, Williams allegedly grabbed the boy by the neck and violently shook his head, screaming at him to “f—ing stop.” He then slammed the child onto a bean bag chair.
The abuse escalated further on May 2, when Williams allegedly held the boy upside down by his ankles, walked him to the window, and threatened to throw him out. The boy was suspended in the air for several minutes while Williams called him derogatory names.
Community Reacts with Shock
Neighbors of the family were left in disbelief when they learned of the allegations. Debbie Weggenmen, a neighbor, expressed her sadness over the situation: “You never know what goes on behind closed doors. That’s too bad. It’s really too bad. Makes me sad.”
Williams Still at Large
Detectives are concerned that Mason Williams may be attempting to flee the country, as he has not been located since the investigation began.
As of Sunday, Williams had not been arrested. Authorities are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5000.
The shocking abuse of both children and the family dog has left the community reeling, and authorities are working to locate Mason Williams for his alleged crimes. The investigation continues as the search for Williams intensifies.
