A Georgia couple was arrested after they were caught giving their 1-year-old child beer at a local bar. The parents initially denied the allegations, but video footage showed the couple sneaking alcohol to their toddler.
Craig Banks, 34, and Paetyn Gregory, 30, now face charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The Incident at the Bar
On June 3, 2025, deputies from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from the Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom in Sharpsburg, Georgia.
The restaurant manager reported that a couple, later identified as Banks and Gregory, were seen giving alcohol to their child, who had just celebrated their first birthday.
The manager said there was video footage showing the couple giving the child beer. When the deputies arrived, they spoke with the manager, who pointed out Banks and Gregory in the parking lot. The officers noted that Banks smelled strongly of alcohol when they approached him.
The Denial and Confrontation
Both parents initially denied the allegations. Banks responded angrily, saying, “My baby is one, why the f— would I do that?” Gregory, who was holding the toddler, claimed that she was only giving the child a sip of tea, not alcohol.
However, surveillance footage from inside the bar contradicted their story. The video showed Banks sitting at the bar, waiting for the bartender to turn around before sneaking beer to the child.
Gregory, who was holding the toddler, was seen laughing as they gave the child beer multiple times. The couple even put the child in a high chair and continued to feed the toddler beer.
The Arrest and Confession
After seeing the video, both Banks and Gregory were arrested. Gregory eventually admitted what happened, saying, “I wasn’t thinking and made a dumb decision.”
Banks was reportedly confrontational with police after his arrest, even telling officers that he would urinate in the police car.
Child’s Safety
After their arrest, the couple’s 1-year-old child was placed into the custody of a grandparent.
Craig Banks and Paetyn Gregory now face serious charges for giving alcohol to their young child. The couple’s actions were caught on video, leading to their arrests and the child’s placement in the care of a relative.
