‘I just killed someone and walked away’: Man fatally stabbed woman and her friend in a parking garage after trapping her in a car, according to police authorities

A tragic event unfolded in Sunrise, Florida, where a 21-year-old man, Jackson Sagesse, was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a well-known stylist, Hailey Hosford, to death in a parking garage.

What Happened at the Parking Garage?

Early on May 28, police received a 911 call from a man who said he had been stabbed in the neck by another man at an apartment complex called the Retreat. When officers arrived, they found the caller injured and Hailey Hosford, 27, unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Police reviewed security footage from the parking garage and talked to witnesses. The video showed a black sedan arriving with Hosford and a male friend. After the car parked, the friend left the vehicle, and Jackson Sagesse entered the scene carrying a shiny object in his hand.

Hosford was seen trying to hide by getting back into the car, but Sagesse forced open the door and attacked her. The video captured the stabbing motion.

The male friend returned and fought with Sagesse but was also stabbed. He managed to escape and call for help.

How Was Sagesse Caught?

An employee at the apartment complex recognized Sagesse from the video and told police where he lived. Officers found him at his mother’s home wearing the same clothes seen in the video. A knife found on him matched the knives missing from the kitchen knife set at his house.

After being read his rights, Sagesse reportedly said, “I just killed someone and walked away.” He claimed self-defense but did not explain why he felt threatened.

Victims and Charges

Hailey Hosford was a popular stylist in the area, and her family is deeply heartbroken. The man who was stabbed but survived was taken to the hospital, though his current condition is unknown.

Jackson Sagesse was arrested and charged with premeditated murder and attempted murder. He is being held at Broward County Jail without bond.

This case highlights the dangers of violent crime and the impact it has on families and communities. Police continue their investigation as the legal process moves forward.
