Kelly Clarkson never fails to keep her audience entertained, and during her Las Vegas residency on July 12, she had the crowd in stitches with a lighthearted joke about her wardrobe malfunction.
While performing on the second night of her Studio Sessions residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the “Since U Been Gone” singer, 43, playfully warned fans about her pasties possibly slipping off due to sweat. In a TikTok clip from the concert, Clarkson humorously shared: “I’m like a Slip-n-Slide underneath.
This might start sticking to me, and I’m not gonna lie, I have these like pasty things on under here. Because there’s [an outfit] change coming, and I can’t have a line.”
She continued to joke about the situation, quipping, “You might all of a sudden see boobs here,” pointing towards her waist. “I am so hot. Is this the change? Is this the night that it starts happening?”
The fun didn’t stop there, as she added a cheeky comment while introducing the next song, saying, “Oh my god, it’s going to happen, and then I’m going to do this for you,” while shimmying her chest. “And just really turn you on. Is anyone single? Looking? I’m just kidding.”
Clarkson, who is known for her candidness, also took a moment to shout out her two kids, River (11) and Remington “Remy” (9), expressing, “Y’all, I do have to say that I love that I’m probably embarrassing my kids. They’re like, ‘Stop talking.’ I hope y’all have fun. I am completely going to embarrass you with things that I say — you’re welcome, it builds character.”
This moment was just part of Clarkson’s highly anticipated residency, which kicked off on July 11 after she had to postpone the show’s Fourth of July start due to the physical toll rehearsals took on her voice. A source revealed to PEOPLE that Clarkson “didn’t want to cancel any shows,” but ultimately had to to protect her vocal cords.
She later expressed her excitement about the residency on Instagram, apologizing to fans who had traveled to see her, but promising it would be worth the wait.
As much as Clarkson is known for her incredible voice, she’s also had her fair share of style mishaps. Back in April, she recalled a moment on tour when her skirt’s clip broke, leaving her commando and causing a bit of a wardrobe disaster. As Clarkson put it, “Look, long story short, I was commando… and something happened where it was like, ‘Oh, okay.'”
In typical Clarkson fashion, she embraced the mishaps with humor, proving once again that she’s always ready to laugh at herself — and keep her fans laughing along with her.
