Scheana Shay is opening up about why she kept her husband Brock Davies’ affair a secret for so long.
Ahead of the release of her memoir My Good Side, the Vanderpump Rules alum discussed why she had been silent about certain aspects of her life, particularly the affair that rocked her marriage.
In an episode of her Scheananigans podcast on July 4, Shay teased that the book would reveal some shocking moments, including details about her past, family, and experiences that fans didn’t know.
Revealing the Untold Story
Shay, 40, explained that while her fans may think they know a lot about her from reality TV, podcasts, and YouTube, My Good Side would give them the full picture. “People think they know everything about me, but after reading this book, you will, because you 100% do not right now,” she promised.
She admitted that there were moments when she didn’t open up on the show or her podcast due to a fear of people perceiving her as “making everything about me.”
She explained that she avoided sharing her side of the story because she didn’t want to be seen as taking attention away from someone else. However, with the release of her memoir, she now had the chance to control the narrative and share the truth from her perspective.
The Affair Revelation
One of the book’s most shocking revelations is the confession from her husband Brock Davies about his affair. Shay writes about how she discovered her husband had cheated on her during the pandemic when they were living in San Diego and she was pregnant with their daughter Summer Moon.
The affair had occurred two years earlier, but she remained in shock after hearing the news. “I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me,” Shay recalled.
Davies explained that he had been scared about becoming a father again, especially when it came to whether he deserved to be one. According to Shay, he “chose” to deal with his fears by sleeping with someone else. “I use the word ‘chose’ because it was very much a conscious decision. No one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed,” she wrote.
The woman involved in the affair was someone Davies had known before meeting Shay. The affair happened after he ran into her outside of his gym in San Diego, where they reconnected and began a brief affair.
Questions About Rachel Leviss
Shay’s revelation about Davies’ affair comes after the public cheating scandal between Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss. Following the scandal, Shay revealed that she “obviously” questioned her husband about any involvement with Leviss, who had previously been a part of the same social circle.
When asked about Leviss’ possible involvement, Davies denied any wrongdoing, assuring Shay that he had not been unfaithful with her. Shay, however, admitted that her trust was stronger in her husband than in Leviss.
The Book and Its Impact
My Good Side will be released on July 22, and is already available for preorder. The memoir promises to offer a deeper, more personal insight into Shay’s life, revealing aspects of her story that she never shared publicly until now.
