A man in Arizona has been indicted for allegedly poisoning his wife with a slushy laced with sleeping pills in a disturbing case of domestic violence that led to her death.
Justin Davidson, 46, has been charged with first-degree murder after the death of his wife, Danielle Crosbie-Davidson, who was under care for advanced dementia.
The Discovery of Danielle Crosbie-Davidson’s Death
Crosbie-Davidson, whose exact age was not provided, was found dead on June 11 at the Eternal Spring of Gilbert, a dementia care facility where she had been residing. Staff members noticed a decline in her health shortly after her husband, Davidson, arrived to stay with her.
They reported that Crosbie-Davidson’s health deteriorated quickly, and they also noticed “suspicious marks” on her body. When they found her dead, her tongue was described as being blue, which raised immediate alarm.
The Suspicious Behavior of Justin Davidson
Staff members also noted that Davidson exhibited unusual behavior. He reportedly told the facility staff that he “did not want them to feed” his wife and had locked the door to her room, preventing staff from checking on her properly.
The locked door and other actions prompted further suspicion. When the body was discovered, bruising was found on the side of Crosbie-Davidson’s neck, further raising concerns.
The Confession and Poisoning Details
Police questioned Davidson, who quickly confessed to the crime. He admitted to attempting to kill his wife earlier with a dangerous overdose of 50 to 60 crushed Oxycodone pills, which she had a prescription for. Despite the high dosage of the powerful opioid, Crosbie-Davidson survived the attempt.
Davidson then confessed to buying over-the-counter sleeping pills from Target, which he dissolved into a blue-flavored slushy from the Arizona fast-food chain Eegee’s.
He admitted to feeding the poisoned drink to his wife, ultimately killing her. Additionally, Davidson confessed to smothering his wife with a pillow to ensure she stopped breathing.
Previous Domestic Issues
Court records revealed that the couple had a history of domestic altercations, including previous police involvement when they lived together in Southern California. This history of tension and conflict culminated in the tragic death of Crosbie-Davidson.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Davidson has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail, where he is being held on a $1 million bond. His next court date is scheduled for August 11, and he faces charges of first-degree murder and other related offenses.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the horrific nature of the crime and the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
