Texas Man Confesses to Killing Roommate, Dumping Body After Argument

A Texas man, Dennis William Day, 66, is behind bars after admitting to killing his roommate, Rana Nofal Soluri, 47, and disposing of her body in a chilling crime that shocked authorities.

The tragic incident involves Day allegedly strangling Soluri after she recorded him, then throwing her body off a bridge in an attempt to cover up the crime.

The Disappearance of Rana Nofal Soluri

Soluri, a flight attendant, was reported missing earlier this month after being out of contact since March. Her co-worker became concerned after Soluri failed to return to work following a minor surgery and abruptly ended a conversation on March 19.

Despite her absence, police were initially led to believe Soluri’s situation might be explained by her leave of absence. However, her disappearance took a dark turn as suspicions grew.

A Suspicious Timeline and Evidence

Soluri’s absence from work and the fact that she hadn’t traveled by plane since October 2024 raised alarms. Her co-worker, who had known her for about five years, provided a video from March 19 that showed Soluri with a handgun, and a man’s voice, believed to be Day’s, shouting off-camera.

This evidence led investigators to focus on Day, who lived with Soluri.

Police later discovered Soluri’s car had been abandoned near Day’s residence for about two months, adding to their suspicions. Further investigations revealed that Soluri’s cellphone last pinged in an area miles away from home, and the last call she made was on March 21.

Day’s Confession and the Discovery of Surveillance Video

In a search of Day’s residence, police found disturbing video surveillance footage from March 21. The footage showed Day dragging what appeared to be a lifeless body from his home into the backyard. Once confronted with the evidence, Day confessed to killing Soluri.

He explained that Soluri had been recording him and threatening to report him to the police, which allegedly led him to “snap.”

Day stated that he choked Soluri on the kitchen floor, then dragged her body outside and disconnected the surveillance system. Afterward, he loaded her body into a black trash bin and disposed of it over a bridge in Bowie, Texas, about 70 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Ongoing Search and Investigation

Although Day led police to several bridges near Bowie, Soluri’s remains have not been found. Her cellphone and a gun she owned were also recovered after Day allegedly revealed their locations.

Day has been charged with one count of murder and is being held at the Tarrant County Jail on a $200,000 bond. Investigators continue to piece together the details of the crime as they search for Soluri’s remains.
