CROMWELL, Connecticut — Keegan Bradley pulled off a stunning comeback in the final round of the 2025 Travelers Championship, rallying from three shots behind with just four holes to play to secure a dramatic victory.
In front of a raucous home crowd, Bradley fired a 2-under 68, including a clutch birdie on the 18th hole, to finish at 15-under 265 and win the tournament by one shot over Tommy Fleetwood, who had been in control of the lead.
Bradley’s Incredible Comeback
Bradley, who had fallen behind Fleetwood by one shot going into the final hole, made an impressive approach on the 18th, sticking the ball just under 6 feet from the pin. Fleetwood, who was looking to secure his first PGA Tour win after 84 attempts, struggled on the final hole, missing a lengthy putt and three-putting for bogey.
Bradley’s calm and composed birdie secured the victory, much to the delight of the New England crowd.
“I think I’m going to remember that one the most,” Bradley said about his 6-foot birdie putt on the final hole. The victory marks Bradley’s second Travelers Championship title in three years, with this win adding $3.6 million to his earnings.
Bradley’s Ryder Cup Hopes Strengthen
The win also gave a boost to Bradley’s chances of representing the U.S. in the upcoming Ryder Cup. He moved to No. 9 in the standings, with his recent form, including two big victories in the last 10 months, making him a strong contender. When asked about his potential Ryder Cup spot, Bradley simply replied, “Go USA!” after the victory.
Bradley’s win in front of the home crowd at the only PGA Tour stop in the northeast was filled with chants of “USA! USA!” as he made key putts throughout the day, including a 35-foot birdie on the 15th hole that put him back in contention.
Heartbreak for Fleetwood
For Fleetwood, the defeat was crushing. The 34-year-old Englishman, who has been a consistent performer on the global stage but has yet to claim a PGA Tour victory, was in the driver’s seat for much of the final round.
Fleetwood had birdied two of the first three holes on the back nine and was two shots clear when he reached the 14th hole. However, a series of missed putts, including a pair of six-footers in the final holes, prevented him from securing his first title.
Despite the heartbreak, Fleetwood showed poise under pressure, even after falling short. Russell Henley, who chipped in for birdie on the 18th, also finished one shot behind Fleetwood, tying for second place with a 69.
Other Key Performances
Bradley’s win was not without competition. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy both shot 65 in the final round, finishing tied for sixth, three shots off the lead. Scheffler, who had shared the 36-hole lead, shot a disappointing 72 in the third round but rebounded with a strong finish.
McIlroy, who had also been in contention throughout the tournament, saw his chances slip away after a late bogey on the 16th.
Harris English, who posted a 65 in the final round, bolstered his own Ryder Cup hopes by finishing in a tie for fourth alongside Jason Day (68).
Keegan Bradley’s thrilling victory at the 2025 Travelers Championship not only secured him a coveted title but also helped strengthen his Ryder Cup chances. For Fleetwood, the wait for a PGA Tour win continues, but his impressive performance throughout the tournament proves he’s one of the game’s top players.
As the season progresses, both Bradley and Fleetwood will look to carry their momentum into future events, with Bradley now firmly in the spotlight as he prepares for the Ryder Cup.
