Kelcey Wetterberg, known for her role as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (DCC) and for being featured on America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on Netflix, has transitioned to a new chapter in her life after her time with the team.
Although she’s no longer dancing on the sidelines, Wetterberg continues to stay involved with the DCC community while focusing on her career in nursing and her personal life.
Kelcey Wetterberg’s Career After DCC
While her time as a DCC may have ended, Wetterberg hasn’t entirely left the world of cheerleading. She is still considered an “All-Star” with the team, which allows her to step in for appearances and events when the current cheerleaders are busy with rehearsals or game preparations.
As an All-Star, Wetterberg helps keep the DCC spirit alive, offering mentorship through DCC prep classes and participating in public appearances.
In addition to her role as an All-Star, Wetterberg has become deeply focused on her full-time career as a pediatric nurse. She previously balanced both roles while working as a nurse during the day and practicing as a cheerleader at night, a demanding schedule that she has since embraced with a full-time commitment to nursing.
Personal Life and Marriage
Wetterberg’s personal life has also flourished. In December 2024, she married her fiancé, Nate Crnkovich, a registered nurse and former Mister Supranational 2019. Their relationship blossomed despite living in different cities, with Crnkovich initially based in Los Angeles and Wetterberg in Dallas.
They began dating long-distance in 2020, eventually leading to Crnkovich moving to Dallas for a travel nursing contract to be closer to Wetterberg.
The couple tied the knot in Omaha, Nebraska, with a two-day celebration that included a private Catholic ceremony followed by a glamorous New Year’s Eve reception. The event was attended by 300 guests and included a six-tier wedding cake, a performance by Wetterberg and fellow DCC alumni, and a vintage Hollywood theme.
Kelcey Wetterberg’s Health Journey
After retiring from the DCC, Wetterberg has faced some challenges, particularly with her health. In March 2025, she underwent ankle repair surgery after sustaining a serious injury while walking her dogs.
Wetterberg has been open about her recovery process, sharing her journey on TikTok and Instagram, where she posted updates about the injury and her rehabilitation. Despite the setbacks, Wetterberg remains passionate about fitness and dance and is working hard to regain her strength.
Mentoring and Teaching
Beyond her nursing career and health recovery, Wetterberg continues to engage with the cheerleading community by mentoring aspiring dancers. She shares her experiences with younger cheerleaders through DCC prep classes and enjoys inspiring others who are pursuing their dreams.
Wetterberg often documents these moments on social media, providing a glimpse into her life and the next generation of cheerleaders.
Kelcey Wetterberg’s Legacy
While her time as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader may have ended, Kelcey Wetterberg’s impact on the team and the cheerleading community is still felt. From her role as a leader on the squad to her dedication to mentoring others, Wetterberg continues to inspire both the DCC community and those pursuing their own passions.
Her journey from cheerleader to full-time nurse and mentor showcases her resilience and dedication to both her personal and professional life.
