This ATV Ride Ended in Felony Charges and Jail Time

A 27-year-old man in Streator, Illinois is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly pointing a gun at pedestrians while riding an ATV. The incident happened on the evening of Tuesday, June 18, and quickly drew a strong police response from the Streator Police Department.

What Happened

Just after 8 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of South Everett Street after witnesses reported a man on a white ATV pointing a firearm at people nearby. Officers responded and found a man matching the description—wearing a red T-shirt and yellow rain jacket—riding into a backyard.

The man was identified as Marcus Brewer. During a safety pat-down, he reportedly admitted to having a gun in his pocket. Police found a .38-caliber revolver and took Brewer into custody without incident.

Charges Filed

After being taken to the Streator Police Department, Brewer was officially charged with several serious offenses, including:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Armed violence (a felony)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine)
  • Unlawful possession of a weapon
  • Operating an unlicensed motor vehicle on a public roadway

Brewer is currently being held at the LaSalle County Jail while awaiting a bond hearing later this week.

Broader Community Concerns

Police noted that this case follows a separate firearm-related arrest in Streator just one day later. Although the two incidents are unrelated, authorities say they highlight a growing concern about illegal gun use and drug activity in the area.

Law enforcement agencies are continuing to monitor the situation and encourage residents to report suspicious activity.
