A Florida man, Sheldon Biddle, 25, has been arrested after allegedly making violent threats against President Donald Trump, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino. Biddle’s threats were made on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and led to charges of making written threats to kill or harm, as well as being a fugitive from justice. The arrest comes after an investigation linked Biddle to a series of dangerous posts expressing anger toward public figures and the government.
Violent and Threatening Posts
Among the posts Biddle allegedly made, one targeted President Trump with the comment, “shut up before you end up like Kennedy,” a reference to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Another post read, “Do I have to (expletive) kill someone to get attention? Hellooooooooo?” Biddle also expressed frustration with the government, writing, “I’m so god damn sick of my government betraying me. I’d rather die fighting for what I believe in, all of you fake Patriots make me sick.”
These posts, which included violent language and radical threats, prompted authorities to investigate further. Biddle was eventually found to have an active federal warrant out for his arrest and was taken into custody on Thursday at a park on North Nova Road in Ormond Beach, Florida.
A Pattern of Extremist Views
Biddle’s social media history revealed a disturbing pattern of antisemitic, racist, and anti-LGBTQ statements. Police officials noted that Biddle made these extreme statements while pretending to protect the U.S. Constitution. Additionally, he voiced hostility toward law enforcement and made violent threats against various public figures, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He also disparaged figures like Ted Nugent and the NRA, calling Nugent a “boot licking traitor to American” and criticizing the NRA for not aligning with the majority of Americans’ views.
The U.S. Secret Service became involved after being alerted to Biddle’s online actions and began their own investigation into the threats made against President Trump.
Legal Charges and Detainment
As a result of Biddle’s threatening posts, a federal case has been filed against him, charging him with making threats against the president. The indictment states that Biddle made a series of online posts with the intent to communicate a true threat of violence, particularly against the president, and with recklessness as to whether others would view his communications as such.
Biddle is currently being held without bond in the Volusia County Jail. Police have stated that they will take swift action against anyone making violent threats, emphasizing that no one should feel unsafe in their community.
The arrest of Sheldon Biddle underscores the serious consequences of making threats of violence, especially toward public figures. His case highlights the need for authorities to swiftly respond to online threats to ensure the safety of individuals and the public. Biddle’s actions have now resulted in federal charges, and he will face significant legal consequences.
