Viral Video: Teen Riot Shuts Down Pentagon City Mall in Arlington, Virginia

A chaotic scene unfolded at the Pentagon City Mall in Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday night, leading to the arrest of three teenagers now facing riot-related charges.

According to a press release from the Arlington County Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City around 7:06 p.m. following reports of multiple fights breaking out in the food court.

When officers arrived, they encountered a large, unruly crowd and witnessed numerous physical altercations happening at the same time.

Police requested additional backup as the situation escalated, posing a threat to public safety and law enforcement on the scene. Officials made the decision to close the mall and evacuate everyone inside.

Teen Suspects Face Serious Charges

Authorities confirmed that three juveniles were arrested:

  • A 13-year-old girl is charged with Riot and Assault on a Police Officer.
  • A 15-year-old girl faces charges including Assault on Police, two counts of Assault and Battery, Injury to a Person in a Riot, and Obstruction of Justice.
  • A 14-year-old boy was charged with Riot While Carrying a Weapon, Assault on Police, and Trespassing. A knife was also recovered during his arrest.

Violent Clashes Injure Officers and Mall Workers

The press release detailed how the suspects resisted arrest. One pushed a police officer and struggled during detainment. Another assaulted a store employee, mall security, and a police officer. The third suspect also assaulted an officer and resisted arrest.

Minor injuries were reported by officers, a store employee, and mall security staff. Two of the teens were treated for minor injuries following their arrests.

Viral Video Shows Police Action

A viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, captured dozens of officers responding inside the Arlington shopping center.

The footage shows police taking control of the scene and apprehending the teens involved in the mall brawl.
