Soggy Weather Pattern Sets In for Central Pennsylvania This Week

ALTOONA, PA — After a picture-perfect Mother’s Day across Pennsylvania, changes are on the way as a soggy stretch of weather begins to take hold.

Sunday brought sunshine and warmth, with high temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and even 80s in some spots — a perfect spring day for celebrating moms.

However, as we head into the new week, the weather is set to take a wetter turn.

Monday starts mild, with overnight lows dipping into the upper 40s and low 50s. The day will begin with partly to mostly cloudy skies, but the rain isn’t far behind.

By Monday afternoon and evening, showers are expected to begin moving into Central Pennsylvania. Rain becomes more widespread into Tuesday morning, impacting much of the region throughout the day.

Despite the clouds and rain, temperatures will remain mild, providing some comfort even as umbrellas become a daily necessity.

Looking ahead to the end of the week, a warm-up is expected. Temperatures may return to the low to mid-80s by Thursday and Friday. While it’s still early, the atmosphere could support thunderstorm development during that time. We’ll be watching closely for more details as the setup evolves.
