A convicted felon in Georgia, Jauan Rashun Porter, 29, has been arrested for making threats to kill President Donald Trump during a TikTok livestream, according to federal authorities. The incident, which occurred on July 26, has led to charges of threatening the president and his successors.
The Threats Made During the Livestream
Porter, a resident of Rome, Georgia, allegedly made several explicit and violent statements during a TikTok livestream about President Trump, in which he openly expressed his intent to kill the 45th and 47th U.S. president.
The livestream, titled “Alligator Alcatraz,” was an apparent reference to a notorious immigrant detention camp in the Florida Everglades. According to the criminal complaint, Porter made statements such as:
- “So there’s only one way to make America great and that is putting a bullet in between Trump’s eyes.”
- “I’m gonna kill Donald Trump.”
- “I’m gonna put a 7.62 bullet inside of his forehead… I’m gonna watch him bleed out and I’m gonna watch him die.”
When asked to repeat his statements, Porter allegedly taunted viewers, saying, “I could say it three more times for you.” He also mentioned that he would go to Trump’s upcoming rally and kill him, saying, “It’ll be on the news.”
The Threats Escalate
As the livestream progressed, Porter continued to detail how he might carry out an assassination, describing loading a rifle and taking a position in an abandoned building to shoot the president when he arrived at a rally.
He allegedly discussed the specifics of the weaponry, including various types of ammunition, stating, “7.62, exactly,” before changing his preference to “5.56 in Donald Trump’s head.”
When the host questioned him about his intentions, Porter confirmed his plans with chilling detail, prompting the host to record the conversation and report it to authorities.
Federal Investigation and Arrest
The U.S. Secret Service was contacted by TikTok on July 30, 2025, after the company flagged the livestream and provided a copy to the agency. Investigators quickly traced the screen name and email address used in the livestream to Porter.
A search of his apartment reportedly uncovered “two pipes, pistol ammunition, and Tannerite (an explosive).” When questioned by law enforcement, Porter initially denied making the threatening statements but later admitted to being the person behind the TikTok account. He acknowledged the seriousness of his comments, according to the complaint.
Porter’s Criminal Background
Porter has a long criminal history, which includes convictions for terroristic threats, influencing a witness, battery, drug possession, and domestic violence. Authorities also noted that he has been convicted of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
