Are you able to “wow” in 100 words or less? Whether you inspire through poetry or short stories, October gives you two chances to share your creativity.
A student poetry contest offers students the opportunity to win one of three $500 prizes or $25 – $50 just for entering (random drawing from all applicants). Students may submit one original poem on any subject, of no less than two lines and no more than 20 lines.
Submit your submission to your English teacher or to Ms. DeFelice by November 10, 2023 to participate in the poetry contest.
The second contest challenges students to write a mini story based on the theme “Hunted” in 100 words or less. Story starters, available through your English teacher or Ms. DeFelice, provide what challenges most writers – the beginning.
Story submissions are due to your English teacher or Ms. DeFelice by October 25, 2023. Three authors will each win $50 and a trophy. Additional entries will be published.
